Biography

Jessica Cheeks Thompson is an International Trade Specialist for the U.S. Commercial Service in the Dallas-Fort Worth Office. Jessica manages the Energy, Automotive and Chemicals/Plastics  sectors, supporting new and existing exporters in Dallas-Fort Worth.  She began her Public Service career in Kansas City, MO as Mission Support Specialist with U.S. Department of Homeland Security in 2013. In 2015, she joined the U.S. Department of Labor, serving as an Economist with the Bureau of Labor Statistics for 7 years. As an Economist, Jessica managed numerous clients across countless industries to produce the data for principal economic indicators, including the Import/Export Price Index. In this role, Jessica gained specific knowledge on international trade and analysis, and cultivated the unique skills for managing relationships and opportunities. She attended the University of Southern Mississippi, where she obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing and a Master of Science degree in Economic Development. Jessica’s currently pursuing a PhD in International Development. Currently, she serves as the President for the Dallas chapter of Young Government Leaders-a professional development organization seeking to develop new leaders in the U.S.
