Biography

Dr. Ngyia has been in clinical practice for over 10 years. His experience is wide-ranging, including outpatient family medicine, outpatient psychiatry, inpatient psychiatry, addiction medicine, urgent care, long-term care/rehabilitation, and occupational medicine. He loves to teach and since 2014, has served as a clinical preceptor for nurse practitioner students from the following universities: Walden University, Maryville University, the University of Texas at Arlington, Grand Canyon University, Texas Tech University, Brandman University, Baylor University, and Purdue University. Dr. Ngyia is also an adjunct faculty at Walden University. He has also served as content expert supervising Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) students from four different universities. In other capacities, Dr. Ngyia currently serves as the president of the International Organization of African Nurses. His research focus is on addiction medicine and the impact of psychotherapy on patients with dual diagnoses.
